Custom Lifting Machines
Whether you call it a Bag Lift, Bag Buddy, Bag Valet or Luggage Lift Device, Austral Star has offered the BEST most functional and innovative Bag Lift on the market since 2004. The Austral Star Bag Lift provides the solution for moving bags to and from the terminal gate to the aircraft’s cargo hold.
Stop the congestion in the passenger boarding bridge when flights arrive by installing a Bag Lift in the walkway adjacent to the terminal.
When a Bag Lift is installed at the beginning of the boarding bridge it is so close to the Gate Agent’s station that strollers, wheelchairs and “Gate Checked” bags can be placed into the cart by the gate agent.
At ramp level a flashing lights above the lower door notifies the ramp worker to remove the cart from the Bag Lift and push to the aircraft hold for loading. No need to transfer to another cart – THE SAME CART that is loaded by the Gate Agent is unloaded into the aircraft by the ramp worker.
• No entry ramp needed
• Upper roller door aluminum [Manual operation]
• Quiet operation
• Lift speed 24 FPM (nominal 30 sec lift time)
• One Bag Cart with a capacity for 25 bags, max. load 600 lbs
• Bag Cart custom STEEL mesh protects bag wheels
• High-Quality Powder coat finish
• Two Touch Pad control panels
• Fault code indication via Touch Pad LED’s
• up to 12 ft nominal Lift
• Meets industry standards ASME B20.1, NEC, UL73

• SAFETY BRAKE stops cart if hoist chain goes slack
• Slack chain monitoring
• Door interlocks and cart position sensor
• Hoist overload sensor
• Multiple software and hardware limits of travel
The Landing Lift provides the next level of service above a bag slide. It allows ramp workers to lower and RAISE a load of up to 500 lbs from the ramp to the PBB landing! No special interface required; attaches to CAB frame or landing.
• 25 bag capacity
• 600 lb mx load

Known by various names, including bridge cranes, overhead cranes, or gantries. Austral Star bridge cranes are made in our facility in Ogden, Utah.
There are many types of construction for bridge cranes including single girder, double girder, top running, and under running. Each configuration gives advantages in head room, longevity, purpose, or cost.
Bridge cranes can be manual by push/pull, manual by chain gear driven, electrically motorized, or even pneumatically motorized.
Crane lift capacities built from pre-engineered components commonly range from ¼- ton to 50-ton with higher capacities available through specific engineering.
All machines are custom engineered according to client specifications. Cranes can be supplied with electric, pneumatic, or electro-pneumatic motorization, and can be hand-geared or push/pull.

• Available with spans from 10ft to 100ft.
• Capacities from ¼-ton to 50-ton.
• Single or dual hoists per crane.
• CMAA classifications A, B, C, D & F.
• Hoists available in hand, electric or pneumatic chain.
• Hoists available in electric wire-rope, double or single reeved.
• Pendant, radio or both controls.
Multi hoist or crane control using radio control with multiple features.
Gantry cranes elevate the bridge between the wheels with an A-frame design for smaller manual push-pull cranes (up to 3 ton) and a H-frame design for larger motorized units. Gantries are ideal for workspaces where movability is required as there is no support structure above the workpiece or when the work area is outside. A second reason to use a gantry crane is if there is limited space for a building but a gantry crane could be fit as shown in the adjacent picture. The third reason to use a gantry cCrane is for temporary or portable projects. They can be setup and moved more easily than bridge or jib cranes.
• Available in capacities from ¼-ton to 3-ton portable A-frame, manual style.
• A-frame manual span 15ft with 15ft height.
• Available up to 10-ton H-frame motorized style.
• H-frame motorized span 40ft max span and 18ft height.
• Hoists available in hand, electric, or pneumatic chain.
• Hoists available in electric wire-rope, double or single reeved.
• Pendant, radio or both controls.
A jib crane is a hoist mounted on a rotating arm or boom. The different types of jib cranes include free-standing, wall-mounted, a transportable jib mounted on a movable base, and a wall-mounted traveling jibs.
Workstation cranes are designed specifically for small work zones. They typically use a push/pull bridge and trolley with a motorized hoist. The best workstation cranes like those made by MET-TRACK© achieve extremely smooth travel with minimal effort. MET-TRACK© cranes use end trucks and trolleys that roll within a custom rolled C-channel that provides a smooth debris free surface. Each system is configured with the operator in mind, and is designed to reduce fatigue and increase productivity.
Austral Star LLC is an authorized dealer for MET-TRACK© and can configure a ceiling mounted or floor mounted system to meet your needs. The installation is often much simpler than a traditional overhead crane.
Floor mounted systems can easily be relocated in the future. Ceiling mounted systems are ideal when floor space is limited or access by other equipment is required.
Quality materials and construction ensure operational reliability and safety and facilitate long life combined with minimum maintenance.

A monorail is a single beam which supports a trolley/hoist which can be pushed/pulled or motorized. Monorails are used for picking objects from a specific location and delivering those objects to a dedicated location. Monorails work great in repetitive pick and place production line situations. Monorails can be ceiling mounted or ground supported.
Austral Star LLC has had considerable experience designing and installing complex monorail systems with mechanical switches, turntables, and even complete sections that raise and lower. Monorails can be used in production with multiple hoists holding product that can index quickly to the next workstation.

VRC’s – are used to move materials from one level to another. VRC’s are not elevators for human movement but are specifically for products or supplies.
